Strasbourg -
the Capital of Europe
Strasbourg is
not only an important business center. It is the capital of
Alsace. As the seat of the European Parliament, the Council
of Europe and many more importanat facilities, it is also
the new capital of Europe.
Home of a well known
university, the city of Strasbourg plays a significant role
in the emerging European community. Only the Rhine River separates
Strasbourg from Germany and with Switzerland nearby, the city
is positioned in the heart of Europe, and is a key location
for international business and government.
The city of Strasbourg is a stimulating place to study international
management, to gain high quality professional experience and
to encourage mutual understanding with an open mind in a diverse,
multicultural atmosphere
The following cities can be
found within a radius of 5 to 600 km around the Alsatian capital:
Paris, Lyon, Geneva, Zurich, Turin, Milan, Munich, Prague,
Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Brussels and Amsterdam. Built on the
banks of the Rhine at the meeting point between the Romance
and Germanic cultural and linguistic areas, Strasbourg occupies
a strategic position within the heart of Europe.
Along
with New York and Geneva, Strasbourg shares the privilege
of being the headquarters of international organisations without
being a national capital. As France's second most important
city on the diplomatic front, it today hosts 75 diplomatic
representations and consulates.
Strasbourg is a paradise
for visitors. People flock to its nine museums, and spend
time here to visit the town, its cathedral and its picturesque
districts, discovering the many works of art on open display,
thanks to a huge public tender based around the construction
of its tram lines. Strasbourg is a town which proudly preserves
its heritage and which embraces contemporary art.
